Another hot day today! The mystery vine is still growing, the cucumbers have bloomed, and the summer squash is still going strong. Out front, the pumpkin patch is showing new growth every day. I’m so excited for pumpkins this fall!
It rained for about five minutes today – so not enough to do much of anything except make it feel even more humid (still not sure how that was possible). But, despite the heat and lack of rain, my raised beds are still holding moisture. I learned from this spring and am NOT overwatering now.
The “Mortgage Lifter” tomato plant has a few more fruits today! I truly thought I had killed this plant off (see: overwatering, above) and am extremely happy to see growth. I was influenced and pruned the plant pretty severely. It was scary, and the plant looks scraggly and naked now, but ever since I pruned, I’ve started to get fruit and growth. So, I guess the internet was right this time!
